DIY – Fishing Game

Here’s what you need to get started…

For the Blue Fish

  • A blue paper cup
  • Blue paint
  • Yellow paper
  • White paper
  • Black puffy paint
  • Two paper clips

For the Yellow Octopus

  • A yellow paper cup
  • Yellow paint
  • White paper
  • Black puffy paint for the eyeballs
  • Two paper clips

For the Fishing Pole

  • Small stick
  • Yarn
  • Bottle cap
  • Small magnet
  • Red paint

Craft Supplies

  • Paint brushes
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife

How to

Step 1: Take a bottle cap and glue the small magnet in the center of the bottle cap (you can paint the bottle cap any color you’d like, we did red in our video)

Step 2: Put a little more glue on top of the magnet to push the end of the thread inside until it can stand on it’s own. Proceed to add more glue to secure it

Step 3: Take the other end of the thread and tie it to the stick to make the fishing pole. You can decorate the other end of the stick with colorful tape!

Now that your fishing pole is ready, we can move on to making the yellow octopus

Step 1: Paint the top of the cup yellow and let it dry

Step 2: Cut out 8 legs and bend them outwards to make it look like an octopus

Step 3: Cut out white round paper for the eyes and put black puffy paint for the eyeballs

Step 4: Cut out a small smile from white paper and glue it to complete the face

Step 5: Next, use a glue gun to secure two paper clips under the head of the octopus

For the blue fish…

Step 1: Paint the top of the cup blue and let it dry

Step 2: Proceed to the same steps as the yellow octopus for the face (or get creative and make a different one for fun!)

Step 3: With a craft knife, make three slits on the sides of the cup for fins

Step 4: Cut fin shapes with a yellow paper and put it through the slits to complete the look

Step 5: Glue two paper clips under the head and you’re all done!

You can also make a turtle with a green paper plate and a crab with a red paper cup!

You are now ready to start fishing!
